چکیده
Methanol, acetone and ethyl acetate extracts obtained from Verbascum pinnatifidum Vahl. V. antinori Boiss. et Heldr were investigated for their bioactive composition, antimicrobial antibiofilm activity. Antimicrobial activity was determined with Escherichia coli NRRL B-3704, Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27853, Proteus vulgaris 13315, Acinetobacter baumanii 19606), Bacillus subtilis 6633, Staphylococcus aureus 6538P, haemolyticus 43252 Candida albicans 10231 by the disk diffusion, minimum inhibitory concentration bactericidal or fungicidal microplate biofilm method, respectively. Bioactive compounds analyses reveal presence of coumarins, cardiac glycosides, quinones, flavanones. It revealed that has more than against test microorganisms. The lowest MIC value recorded methanol extract A. 19606 (0.3125 ± 0.01). Antibiofilm activities three have been showed an inhibition percentage range 8.93 - 92.18% 14.56 91.19%,

Recent Evidence on Bioactive Glass Antimicrobial and Antibiofilm Activity: A Mini-Review
Bone defects caused by trauma or pathological events are major clinical and socioeconomic burdens. Thus, the efforts of regenerative medicine have been focused on the development of non-biodegradable materials resembling bone features. Consequently, the use of bioactive glass as a promising alternative to inert graft materials has been proposed. Bioactive glass is a synthetic silica-based mater...
متن کاملAntimicrobial activity of bioactive compound(s) produced by Bacillus species
Antibiotics are metabolic by-products of complex biosynthetic pathways in microorganisms. They are usually produced by aerobic spore-forming bacteria in the genera Bacillus and Streptomyces and in the Fungi Penicillium and Cephalosporium. Antimicrobials such as bacteriocins are inhibitory peptides or proteins, which have bactericidal effects on micro-organisms closely related to the producer. T...
متن کاملAntimicrobial and Antibiofilm activity of Enzybiotic against Staphylococcus aureus
Background: Biofilms are communities of microorganisms embedded in a self produced polymeric matrix composed of polysaccharide, protein and DNA, adhered to inert or living surfaces. Researchers have focused on understanding the complex nature of biofilm and their reduced susceptibility to antibiotics. The use of biomaterials and indwelling medical devices like catheters increase probability of ...
متن کاملIn Vitro Antimicrobial and Antibiofilm Activity of DispersinB
Since the traditional methods of treatment have proven ineffective against chronic wounds involving biofilms, the present study evaluates the in vitro efficacy of a novel wound gel comprising an antibiofilm DispersinB ® enzyme and a broad-spectrum antimicrobial triclosan against chronic wound-associated bacteria. The antimicrobial and antibiofilm activity of DispersinB ® -triclosan wound gel wa...
